Here are four sites I know about that can help you with your business.

The Child Care Business Owner Blog! – Shiketa Morgan is a former family child care provider in St. Louis, Missouri. Her blog contains articles on a variety of business issues. Her Facebook page contains interesting discussions and her Twitter account has 2,000 followers.

The Green Fish Chronicles – Misti runs her family child care home, Little Scholar, from Topeka, Kansas. Her blog contains a wonderful series of articles on how child care providers can set up their own website as well as articles on children’s activities and more. She also has a Facebook page.

Alison Jacks is an Enrolled Agent who specializes in preparing income taxes for family child care providers in California. Her website contains a wealth of articles on tax issues affecting child care providers such as: How to Calculate Your Time/Space Percentage, What Business Licenses Do You Need?, Treat Your Workers as Proper Employees, Complete Federal and California Payroll Tax Guide, and much, much more.

All-Things-Child-Care.com – Natalie is a former family child care provider who now is a family child care consultant. Her website contains a number of articles on taxes, business planning, contracts, as well as information for parents on choosing and paying for child care.

I’m sure that there are other people who have a blog or website addressing family child care business issues. Let me know about them! I’ll do a future blog posting and introduce them.
