The book is short – 104 pages. It covers:
* How to qualify to receive Social Security benefits
* How retirement benefits are calculated
* How to receive spousal and widow benefits
* Social Security for divorced spouses
There is a good chapter on Social Security planning and when to take benefits. The answer depends on whether you are married, how long you expect to live, how much your spouse earns, and more. The answer is not simple.
Because the decision of when to take Social Security benefits is so important, I strongly recommend that you consult with a financial planner or the Social Security office nearest you at least several years before you are considering retirement, to find out what is the best option for you and your family.
The book costs about $10 if purchased on Amazon.
The author also has a helpful website (ObliviousInvestor.com) that contains simple, helpful advice about investing and money.
