  1. Tom do you have your webinars archived so I can watch them later? You do them (webinar) on Tuesdays. Tuesday is the family child care association meetings for my area.

  2. Tom, do you still do trips that include training such as the boat cruise etc.

    • I’ll be training in Maui, Hawaii this coming December as part of a week-long family child care conference sponsored by Zepeda Learning:

      • So if I attend this Hawaii conference all of my expenses are 100% deductible correct? Would that include meals outside of the conference and rental car? Any costs associated with bringing my family would not be of course. If my husband would attend the conference with me though I assume his expenses would also be deductible correct?

        • All expenses of the conference are 100% deductible. Travel expenses would be deductible as long as you spend more than half the days in Hawaii on business activities. So, if you spent 7 days at the conference and three days vacation, the travel would be deductible. Meals outside the conference would only be deductible if they were meals eaten during the days when you attended the conference. Rental car would not be deductible unless you were traveling for business purposes. You could deduct the conference expenses for your husband if he attended the conference. You could only deduct his travel costs if he was your employee and worked a substantial amount of time for your business.

      • How do you sign up for a conference in a different state? I never been to one and I am very interested in going.

  3. Hi Mr. Copeland
When are you coming to Rhode Island?

  4. Can I attend the Maii conference just for your session? Also it shows you are going to be on Kauai on Dec. 10. Any details on this event. Sure would like to go to one of your sessions. I live on Oahu. Any plans for Oahu?

    • You can’t attend just my sessions for the Maui conference. I’m waiting to get confirmation of doing training for PATCH on Maui and on the big island. Check my Training section of my blog for updates. No plans to be on Oahu as of yet.

  5. Sorry I typed the wrong email. Just correcting my Emil from my comment. Want to know more details for your Kauai workshop. Also in Maui can I just attend your session.

    • I may be doing training for Maui PATCH in December. I’m waiting to get this confirmed. Watch the Training section of my blog for an update.

  6. Wonderful blog! Do you have any recommendations for aspiring writers?

I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little
lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused
    .. Any recommendations? Kudos!

  7. Hi Mr. Copeland,

Can these webinars be counted towards childcare training topics? If so do we receive a certificate?

  8. Tom are you coming to Wisconsin any time soon? I live in the Sheboygan county area and would enjoy learning from you in person. Topics of interest are: Knowing what to claim to earn the most amount of money back from tax refunds, What to do when you have no retirement set up but you have less than 10 years to work before retiring. How to market your business to get cash pay clients only.
    Thanks Tom

    • I’m not scheduled to do training in Wisconsin in the near future. Typically I get invited by local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies or Food Program sponsors to do training. Talk to yours about bringing me to your area.

  9. Hi Tom ,
I have been working in licensed centers for over 25 years and I use your books and videos as teaching tools. I see that you are scheduled to train in Vermont, I was wondering if you were aware that over 51 registered home programs closed in the last 6 months? And more are expected to close before the new state regulations take affect September 2018. Many are quality programs, I feel that the providers are unsure how to handle to new expenses involved in meeting the changes in new regulations, such as ; more training hours, college credits, improvements on fencing, new cleaning procedures, and increased record keeping are just a few of the changes. I am excited that you will be in our state to offer training and support to a much need service. We recently (2016) had over 40 children on our waiting list and I was able to place 5 in our care. Vermont children need quality homes up and operational to provide safe environments for our young children. Thank you for the service you provide!
    kindly,
Lou Ann Clewes ( aka Lou Lou )

  10. Good Evening,

I work for a resource and referral in Columbus, Ohio. I see that you are scheduled to come to Hamilton, Ohio September 2nd. How can I get more information on that workshop?
