  • Carpet-cleaning service

  • Central security alarm system (installation and monthly fee)

  • Corner wall guards

  • Cupboard latches and locks

  • Deck staining

  • Dehumidifier

  • Electrical fuse replacement

  • Floor sanding

  • Furnace cleaning/inspection/repairs

  • Homeowner’s association dues

  • Housecleaning service

  • Humidifier

  • Lead paint removal

  • Light fixture repair

  • Painting the interior or exterior of your home

  • Patching walls and floors

  • Pest control (termites, rodents, bats, etc.)

  • Plumbing repairs (leaks, frozen pipes, etc.)

  • Radon or lead testing and abatement

  • Roof shingle repair

  • Rubber stair treads

  • Screen repair

  • Service contracts for appliances

  • Tree removal/trimming

  • Wallpapering

  • Window repair

In general, deduct the Time-Space Percentage of these costs and claim them on IRS Form 8829 Expenses for Business Use of Your Home.
